Gua Sha (The Lash Method) is part of a modality called Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization or IASTM. This technique originated in Eastern Asia. Applying Gua Sha to problem areas can improve range of motion, strength, flexibility, circulation and decrease pain and stiffness.

Student testimonial:
"Gua Sha has made me substantially more aware of where traumatized tissue resides and the tools make it easy to find particular critical areas of trauma. My work has been taken to the next level after other modalities have gotten me as far as they can. The result is efficient sessions, more quickly and completely satisfied clients and less strain on my body." Holly Heyser, BS, LMT – Heyser Therapy, LLC – Wayne, PA

The technique described in this workshop is based on the work and experience of Dr. Heather Lash.
This workshop will cover the theory, tools, uses, research, contraindication, indications, self-treatment, historical and social background and case studies.

About Dr. Lash

Dr. Heather Lash, D.C. is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in the States of Pennsylvania and Florida. In addition to her Chiropractic Degree she has earned certificates in Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping, Graston Technique, Activator Methods, and has studied manual techniques including Gua Sha and Trigger Point Therapy. Dr. Heather Lash spent time volunteering her healthcare services in Vietnam in 2009. She worked with patients in hospitals and orphanages to help them achieve a better quality of life. The impact this trip had on her life and her practice was profound. Specifically, her time in Vietnam had influenced a change in her soft tissue work forever. Though certified and practicing Graston technique prior to her time in Vietnam, she did not have access to the specific tools while overseas. The benefit her patients experienced from IASTM was something she wanted her Vietnamese patients to experience as well so, she took to the local markets to find a tool. She came across a piece of jade with ideal edges and practiced Gua Sha with it her entire time in Vietnam. With Gua Sha, she had incredible painless results for her patient's musculoskeletal health. When she returned back to the US, Dr. Lash invested her time in research on Gua Sha. The resulting research and experience will be uncovered during this webinar. To this day, Dr. Lash continues to practice Gua Sha with her patients and continues to have impressive efficient healing results.
